Apologies for the slow updates lately! We’ve been settling into the new routine with Brandt here and our website has passed me by! We’ve got some great things coming in 2012, and I’ll share with you some of them.
1) We’re continuing our series ‘The Story,’ starting back up in a few weeks. We’ll continue to go through the major stories of the Bible and see what they can teach us today.
2) Our ministry in the Dominican Republic (Haitian Ministries) will be sending Jean Paulite (the pastor we support) to visit Dassel Church of Christ in January. This will be a great time for you to learn more about him, and the ministry.
3) Fitness CHAOS will continue to meet every week at the church. The ladies are having fun! For more info, contact the church.
4) Wednesday night groups will be starting back up next week (Jan 4, 2012)! Dinner at 6pm, groups at 7pm.
5) SURPRISES! New things coming for DCC in 2012, but we’re going to wait and tell you later!

This December, as in previous years, we will be taking part in many different events.
First, let’s all please remember the people in our communities less fortunate than ourselves. The Priscilla Circle is assembling Christmas baskets for the elderly and people with special needs. We are in need of baked goods, candies, jams, jellies, snacks, hot cocoa, etc. for these baskets. The youth will be caroling and distributing the baskets. Also, we are buying Christmas gifts for several families in the area. There are name tags located at the church that include a gift suggestion for each one. Please take a name and purchase the suggested gift and bring the wrapped or unwrapped gift to the church with the name tag attached. Please bring the gift basket items and the gifts to the church no later than Sunday, Dec. 11.
This year’s annual spaghetti dinner will take place Friday, Dec. 16. This dinner is free and open to all people of the area. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to attend. We will be looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen, along with people to help set up, decorate, etc. Contact Matt or Sheri if you are willing to participate.

Things are really rolling at DCC! Here are some quick updates to let you know what we’ve got going on here.
- We are continuing going through ‘The Story’ of the Bible and seeing how God’s working with people in the Old Testament was foreshadowing his working with people today. We continue this every Sunday morning at 930am.
- Children and Youth go deeper into ‘The Story’ on Wednesday nights with their groups. Two adult groups meet on Wednesday night as well: a marriage class on ‘Love and Respect’ and a practical theology class studying a range of topics. Dinner is always free and groups are immediately afterwards. 6pm! (Groups will not meet Nov 23)
- We are excited about bringing Brandt Johnson here as our family pastor. Brandt and I will work closely together and with the elders, discerning and leading DCC where God is taking us. The Johnson’s arrive here at the end of the month.
- Christmas is coming up! That means our Annual Spaghetti Dinner is upon us! Stay tuned for more news.
- We will have a Christmas Eve service this year. Bring your family and celebrate the tradition of Christmas with DCC. And don’t forget to come Christmas morning as well!
